Flensburg Old Town
You can reach Flensburg harbor and the old town in just 15 minutes by car from the Hotel des Nordens. The city's pedestrian zones invite you to store or enjoy a relaxing coffee in one of the numerous cafés. The old town is also characterized by numerous historic buildings, which are still home to a large number of traditional craft businesses.
Flensburg Maritime Museum
The Flensburg Maritime Museum is located directly on the Flensburg Fjord with its historic marina. The exhibitions tell the story of Flensburg's sailors and shipping companies as well as the historical development of shipping in Flensburg.
Phenomenta
The Phänomenta adventure museum is not only an exciting excursion tip for younger guests. There are various exhibitions on the secrets of physics, which always invite you to join in.
Flensburg Brewery
The famous "Flensburger Pilsener" has been produced in Flensburg since 1888. The brewery invites you to visit the production processes and then enjoy a tasting followed by a small snack. Advance booking is recommended.
Cycling along the border route
Active vacationers can experience German-Danish culture along the 130 km long border route, one of the many well-developed cycle paths in the region. The hilly landscape near Flensburg, shaped by the Ice Age, turns into inland dunes, marshes and heathland towards the west.
Legoland Billund Denmark
Those arriving at the Hotel des Nordens by car can also make a day trip to the Legoland Billund adventure park an exciting part of their vacation after an approximately 1.5-hour drive.
Nordertor
The Nordertor is Flensburg's landmark and therefore a must-see when visiting the port city. The last remaining city gate was part of the former fortifications around the port city.
Fjord tours
Discover the beauty of the Flensburg Fjord and the surrounding coastline on a relaxing or entertaining cruise from the water. A large number of ships are available at the various piers, e.g. around the historic harbor.
Glücksburg moated castle
The Renaissance castle of Glücksburg is characteristically surrounded by the water of the castle pond and was once home to the Danish royal family. Today, the castle and its park can be visited independently or as part of a guided tour.
